The hotel had a central position near Lulworth cove, Durdle door and the fossil forest providing the range walks are open as well as the harbour and cove and Durdle Door. Furthermore, in a beautiful area.

    Friendly staff and good breakfast.

Some negatives about the Boat House - no ability to have a shower as there was no cubicle and the shower mixer fitted to the bath tap was rubbish (either scalding or freezing), unbelievably squeaky bed (shame as it was obviously new), nowhere to dry your hair as the mirrors were propped up against the wall rather than being properly hung and they weren't near any sockets, the room was above the toilets for the bar/hotel next door which meant a very noisy and disturbed night until this had closed as the sound insulation was non-existant. Maybe the rooms in the main building are better, but this did not represent value for money.

Possibly the best and quite comfortable stay for a night. Gorgeous choices for the breakfast. Amazing location for visiting bars and pubs. Also near the beach.

The staff gave us a very warm welcome and made sure that all of our stay at the Inn was excellent. The food was very good value for money and exceptionally tasty.

I was really disappointed by the Lulworth Mill House. I had the impression that it would be a lovely place to stay given its location and I assumed from the price of the rooms that they would be lovely too. They weren'T. I was led to believe that I would be given the self contained property near the main hotel site but was told on my arrival that this had been changed without notification. The person who I dealt with didn't confirm that he was the manager it said that it was 'someone else's' responsibility for the error and that he would find out what had happened and dicuss it with me the next morning. He did not. Upon taking our room, we were disappointed with the standard of decoration - old - sparse and it felt damp. The flatscreen tv was mounted on the wall closest to the plug rather than viewing comfort - you'd have to be sitting right in the corner to see it without craning your neck. We ate in the hotel restaurant and our order was forgotten. The reason given that 'the wind must have blown it away' and to compensate we were offered a free drink which we were subsequently charged for, which when we queried, the waiter said we were only charged for the first drink we had had but we had had none (because he had forgotten our order), and then blamed the error on another member of staff. We feel that the price charged for staying at this hotel reflects the location only and NOT the standard of the accommodation which is poor. There were some excellent staff but our main experiences were of those that were not either honest, good at their jobs or professional in their handling of errors.

Good food and beer, friendly staff

Room decor was old. Radiator was either boiling or freezing.

The Superior Double Room with Sea View offers amazing views of the coastline. The room is well-appointed with 'driftwood' decor, filling the space with a calming vibe.

I found the bed a bit uncomfortable, which might just be my personal preference. A mini fridge would have been handy for chilling fresh milk because UHT just doesn't cut it for tea. The bar area felt a bit worn, and it was annoying to arrive for dinner only to find limited menu options. Breakfast couldn't be served before 8:30, which restricted plans given the military range nearby. The black umbrellas around the hotel clash with the overall aesthetic of the place and could benefit from a more uniform look.

The breakfast was wonderful, great choice, well cooked and well presented - great location. The large bed in the room was comfortable. Staff were very polite and helpful.

We had a standard room - room 8 - relatively clean but you could hardly lock the door from the inside - the taps leaked badly - the shower was hot and cold, burnt myself once or twice, had to get out of the shower to turn it off too hot to reach through the water spray. You had to be very thin to close the bathroom door to get to the toilet, very small and low toilet and wouldn't pull first time. There was nowhere to dry the towels, the extractor fan was very noisey (everybody elses kept you awake). There had been an effort to brighten the room i.e. new curtains and bed throw and chair to match, but there were no draws to put any clothes in. They had obviously change pictures in the room but the old picture marks were evident. Needed lick of paint to the entire room.

The room was small, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The heater in our room was not working when we arrived, but they immediately brought us an electric heater and we were toasty warm and cozy.. :) The breakfast was really good!

It's a very nice place but for what it is, the price of £99/night is a bit steep. Depends on what kind of budget you are travelling on..

    Couple's getaway with nice moments

The staff were so friendly, they went out of their way to. The food was excellent too, especially those burgers we had on our first night.

It wasn't budget-friendly, but you get what you pay for.

The customer service and staff were exceptional - cannot fault them. They handled a mix up in the booking professionally and did what they could to make sure it didn't ruin the holiday. The food in the bistro is also excellent and well worth a visit. The location is beautiful, opposite a mill pond and we could see Lulworth Cove from our balcony terrace.

The room was a little tired, and in need of updating/decorating, especially the bathroom.

The location is fabulous. A minute from Lulworth Cove and equally close to walk up the cliffs onto the Coastal Path. Food at the restaurant was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although everyone seemed very new and there a few mix-ups over minor things.

The staff seemed mostly new and there were odd confusions over minor things (table bookings, payments). The main problem was that the floors are extremely squeaky. We had people staying above us and they were moving around a lot in the night. I'm not exaggerating here, I've stayed in many hotels in many countries and I honestly can't think of a place where the floor/ceiling was so noisy. I guess this is down to the building conversion. I didn't get much sleep at all. A shame, because this kind of ruined my impression of the place. I liked the hotel overall, but I'd only ever stay there again if they could guarantee me a room on the top floor.
